A Message From the BSFS

Dear Parents, and Guardians

The Bridlewood Fundraising Society would like to take this moment to thank each, and every family for their fundraising efforts for 2019-2020.  Your continued support in fundraising is so meaningful, and beneficial to for all students of Bridlewood School.  In light of recent events globally, and here in Canada with regards to the Covid-19 pandemic, and as we work together to flatten the curve by social distancing, the BSFS would like to officially take this opportunity to cancel the Bridlewood School Read-A-Thon for this year.   Thank you to each student, and family for their participation in our bi-annual Read-A-Thon.  Thank you to each student, and family for your participation in all our fundraising this school year 2019-2020.  We are Bridlewood strong!
Wishing you all good health, and safety.

Many thanks,

Monica Clarkson
BSFS Chair

Parents & Guardians

Thank you for sending photo's of your child/ren doing their at home online learning :)
This is just to remind parents that if you haven't yet ordered a yearbook, and wish to do so,
the deadline has been extended to Friday 24th April.
This is the latest date for orders, as the orders must be then submitted to Lifetouch ready for the printing of the yearbook.
If you wish to order, please go to your MYCBE/PowerSchool account via this link.
https://cbe.ab.ca/support/Pages/MyCBE-PowerSchool-Student-Fees-Registration.aspx
As this fee is an optional fee, it has to be selected for it to be added to your account, you will find the fee under the Goods/Services tab.
Once you click the check box, the fee will then go into your account where you can make the payment. Yearbooks must be paid for before the school places the order with Lifetouch. Please note that any order with outstanding fee after the 24th April will be removed.
If you have any problems finding or attaching the yearbook fee, please email me directly (catunney@cbe.ab.ca) and I can attach the fee to your MYCBE/PowerSchool account so that you can make the necessary payment.

and support as we move forward and learn together.

This is important for your physical and mental health.

and play Go Fish with them. You get to keep it if you can read it

3. Cut out the letters of the words from a magazine and put the words together
4. Play 'Teacher' by making flashcards and ask me to practice reading them to
you
5. Play “Guess My Word” (spider) with the words
6. Pick 5 words to find in a book

Then print a list of words that tell how you are feeling today.

Then figure out how many feet are in THAT house. Like last time, use
numbers, pictures, words, tally marks or number sentences to help solve the
problem.
Don’t forget that a flea is an insect, so it has six feet!
Next think about these questions:
Which house has MORE feet? How many more feet? How do you know?
Challenge: How many feet are in your house and “The Napping House”
ALL TOGETHER?

Wednesday, April 8th

Using characters of your choice, who might be in a house if there are 8 feet in
the house?
What would you name this house?

or number sentences (equations) to help solve the problem.
Challenge: Who could be in the house if there were 12 feet? 20 feet? A number
of your choice?

Friday, April 10th (Good Friday) - NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS

Happy Friday Grade 1's
We understand that this has been a very unusual few weeks for everyone.
It is important to take care of our mental wellness at all times, but perhaps
especially now as we navigate challenges and change. As we head into the
weekend, we invite families to connect and share their thoughts by
discussing these ideas.
What am I grateful for today?
Who am I checking in on or connecting with today?

In the days and weeks ahead, we will have questions for families to discuss.
We miss you all and hope that you stay safe and have a happy and healthy
weekend.

Happy Birthday Ayden!
