-Today many of us wore orange shirts. today, thank you.  We learned that it's event that started in 2013. It was designed to educate people and promote awareness about the Native residential school system and the impact this system had on Indigenous communities for more than a century in Canada, and still does today.   We drew orange shirts in our visual journals and illustrated and printed many different ways we can be kind.  Every child matters.

In gym, we had all three classes participate.  We played Cat and Mouse and Revenge Tag.

-We practiced rolling a dice and subitizing (recognizing at a glance) the quantity that was seen. Students then played a game and covered the numeral that is one less than the rolled number.
-We also played race to 20, ask your child how to play both games.

-We had an active and fun recess outside where we were able to enjoy the fresh snow. Many of us rolled big snowballs for the base of our snowmen.  Thank you for having your child dressed for the weather.

-Children were assessed on their memorized knowledge of letters of the alphabet again and were asked to print all of the letters of the alphabet in lower case letters.  We discovered that many students may want to practice printing upper and lower case letters.  We can sing the alphabet but, some of us need practice printing the alphabet, recognizing upper and lower case letters and knowing the sounds the letter makes.
